強迫游泳實驗（Forced Swimming Test，FST）是Porsolt R D于1977年首次建立，用來檢測抗抑郁藥物的作用。后來強迫游泳實驗就成為評價藥物抗抑郁作用的動物模型。該實驗方法是一種行為絕望實驗法，通過將動物置于一個局限的環境中（如水中），動物在該環境中拼命掙扎試圖逃跑又無法逃脫，從而提供了一個無可回避的壓迫環境，一段時間后，動物即表現出典型的“不動狀態”，觀察并記錄實驗動物產生絕望的不動狀態過程中的一系列參數，可以用來評價致抑郁劑和抗抑郁劑的作用效果。
